I was thinking of getting a baitcast combo the was fairly cheap and have finally come up with something the has good quality and low price. I was thinking of getting the Shimano Caenan baitcast reel, paired with the BPS Tournament Series IM-7 Graphite rod. Do u think that's a suitable setup?

Thanks for the input. I have checked all of the BPS reviews as that's where I will be purchasing it from and have considered the factors towards the power of my rod. That's most likely gonna be my choice for a new and affordable rod and reel. Thanks agai. For your expertise and advice. Cam

I might. Havn't decided yet. I went last year and really enjoyed it but was there looking for a good bow with a decent price. This year looks to be more fishing stuff than last year so I'd like to check that out.

Thanks Joel I'll consider that piece of information. I'd probably only be using it for rainbows, largemouths, smallies, walleye and maybe the occasional pike.

I was looking at the bass pro site for baitcasters and rod setups and there doesn't seem to be a lot of cheap left handed baitcasters is there? Cheap=around $100

Thanks guys for the input.... I was just wondering because I for sure need to buy a new reel.... My rod Is okay for now but I need a new one of them too. The reel I have now my uncle gave to me but it is so loaded with dust the drag doesn't work anymore on it when I tried bass fishing last...

And to narrow it down a bit more i'm looking for a baitcasting rod and real setup since I'm just casting small lightweight baits throughout the pond I trout fish at.

Yea the arapaima was a pretty beast fish..... I try and catch a few episodes here and there and that was one of the few episodes that I watched. Neat show. :)

I casually fish every spring at a pond for small - large sized rainbows and every summer in Algonquin back lakes for bass and sometimes walleye.... This is probably a dumb question but is there a decently priced rod & reel setup that can land these species without buying multiple rods?? Tnx...
