    Help understanding the wateroffice page

the only way to become really familiar with the graphs for, say the 4-5 rivers you fish is to watch them constantly while spending time on the water fishing, when you are successful remember that magic number and dont forget it. When looking at the weekly data compare the levels to the previous...

What do you prefer to fish...Salmon or Steelhead?

Thats when you politely tell them you are going to break their rod and then their neck, 9 times out of 10 they will smarten up lol

Lets talk about the Fall Run 2013

Fishing has been steady for me this fall. Since the water has been high it has been hard to time a big push of fish, most days the fish have been relatively scattered, a few here a few there but nothing to write home about. While theres been no crazy number days the size of the fish has made up...

    dew worm hook size

I prefer to use a whole worm, hook it twice (size 6-8 hook) then thread it onto the line so it sits just above the hook. This way it floats naturally (not like a bait ball) and no steelhead can resist that presentation

Salmon in the huron tribs yet?

sounds about right, a few here and a few there but hasnt been worth the drive yet. Water levels have been very low but thats the norm on the Huron tribs. The rain should really get things going though

    NIAGARA ON FRIDAY

just my opinion, and i know you might be joking, but you probably shouldnt encourage that idea.... it is plain foolish. You cant take the big river lightly, one wrong move can cost you your life. I can say from experience as we had an extremely close call in the boat last year, we were possibly...

    Opener Update

while roe is pretty much unbeatable in the fall and winter months there comes a point in the spring when the fish will turn off of it somewhat. Not saying it wont get you fish but I catch more in the spring time on dew worms, single eggs, stone flies etc

    geen newbie

one of the main reasons I like slip floats is they reduce line twist when fishing fast heavy flows, as often is the case at the geen. Not ideal to have your offering spinning like crazy either. But yeah, it all comes down to personal preference.

    geen newbie

I dont have a huge amount of experience fishing the Geen, but based on my experience: -good luck fishing the dam on a weekend. Its an absolute gong show of idiots. There will already be 50 guys there an hour before it gets light lol -upsize everything - float, shot, leader line, etc, many...

    Powerbait dough/power eggs

works great for trout pond fish - not so great for lake run steelies and browns.

    Wet & Wonderful

Nice looking fish. I could be wrong but isnt it only Michigan, Indiana, and Wisconsin that continue to stock skamanias (in Lake Michigan)? No stocking in Ontario for 15 years

    Old roe

heres what it looks like after being air dried with borax.... bone dry when tying and outfishes loose eggs all day every day, especially in slower, colder water.
