    IM 12 or Nano rods

It is still a mystery to me . Frankly I have little faith in intermediate modulus or high modulus graphite or Boron and any other number of technologies if the the design is not up to par it matters very little about the graphite content . Glass rods are a prime example of this. The last fly...

    IM 12 or Nano rods

I keep getting emails from a manufacturer about this " nano " material in the latest 40 t graphite or IM 12 . Honestly I have no real understanding of why a high tensile 30-40 t has anything to do with a performance value in a fishing rod. I am really tempted to pick up a couple next time I am...

WHAT DID YOU BUY TODAY? FISHING PURCHASES

Sail had this Sage 7wt on for half price today so it was only $300 . The guide pants and boots where something my wife picked up for me while I was away . Was looking for a larger line weight Rod but I actually have a few heavier rods so the 7 wt was actually not a bad choice .that is untill I...

Finishing Bamboo Fly Rod Blanks?? Help

I have had a couple of bamboo fly rod blanks for a few years now and while I know I can pick up rings handle reel seat ,my biggest problem is the ferules for attaching each piece ,the blanks are completely unfinished apart from flaming and varnish . Best fishing kayak for under 1000$

If you plan on doing mostly lake fishing with this rig you may want to consider adding a fish finder. You can find a lot of info for mounting a transducer in the hull . On my kayak I have a seperate drain hole that accepts a transducer and I just use a small hummingbird 385 model.

Best fishing kayak for under 1000$

That will definitely have the load capacity that you want in addition to the stability. Are you planning on lake fishing or river because I think the kayak might weigh a little more than the average Kayak . Looks like a good choice for fishing .

    Need to downsize

9'.3" 4wt 4 pce Rod fits perfectly in the back picked up this with 10 % off from Joe at Grindstone Angling. It is the best of both worlds ,now I have a new Rod which I happen to like a lot and it solved my problem with storage.

    Need to downsize

It so the 6 . The 8 is just a complete hooligan to drive. The 6 is actually nicely balanced and according to the track computer in the console it is actually faster than the advertised 4.9 seconds for 0 to 100 it is 4.5 seconds. I also like the exhaust notes from the 6 compared to the 8,although...

Best fishing kayak for under 1000$

I think you may need to look at paying a little more . I have a Ocean Kayaks Trident and It has a max capacity of around 350lbs . I think I paid somewhere around $1300 or possibly a little more for it . The upside is it is a nice stable fishing platform and I can stand on it. Although...

    Need to downsize

Not to much available from the Sail store here in Burlington.i did look at the entry level Echo Rod 9' 4 wt and while it would be a nice wet fly rod . I thought perhaps the tip action to be a little slow for dry,s . The Sage approach 9' 4wt had a nicer feel but I found the finish was a little...

    Need to downsize

I will pay for a good Rod but I wont overpay ,l just feel a fly rod is not worth $1000.00 I have done that in the past when I would get caught up in the name and not really thinking of the overall value and I have purchased overpriced items ut own days Paying 5 or 600 in my mind is the limit...
