I've been working 12 hour days for the last 2 weeks and didn't have the chance to wet a line. However I got an hour of free time today, 7pm -8pm so I grabbed my rod, my tackle box and headed for my favorite spot. I arrived at my spot around 7:15 pm, and boy where the fish active! I saw at least 5 jumps when I was setting up, because of all the surface action I was seeing I decided to try a top-water frog. After around 10 minutes of casting and zero bites, I switched tactics. I then tied on a size 6 hook and put on a wacky rigged Yum Dinger, with a lime green bottom and a dark green top. I just started flipping my bait, into gaps in the lilly pads, near some fallen trees sticking out of the water and near the shore. I soon caught a small, 8 inch large mouth bass. Nice quick release and game on! I continued flipping into the lilly pad, the fallen trees and the shore, I then caught this guy or girl (see picture). I continued flipping my Dinger until 7:45, then I tied on a small size 12 hook and put half a worm. I caught a few sunfish and one small carp. Soon it was 8pm and I had to head home to do some work. I hope to head back out some time next week. Cheers.
