looks really great CC. really good fly for slow times. i don't have lot of confidence when i use the straight hook size 8. even though i caught two fish on it. so has my buddy. i usually use the tiny ones some times some stores carry, and my luck, i always lose it to the fish lol. i am a big fan of small wooly bugger. thanks CC for tying them.

i will let ohip know. out of curiosity, how big are they? not really sure difference between fly fishing hooks. not sure how difference 12 straight or 12 caddis would be. even though i will see them in 2 days lol.

nice micro bugger cc, thanks for sharing.Man you have some nice flies to put into action come springtime :)

lay off my flies jmatt!! :p i asked him to make them for me at that size. from what i understand CC does not have lot of luck with wooly buggers!i do, but with tiny ones. but always a monster gets away with my flies. i have lost 2/3 i had on 15lb+ fish and one in a snag :(

nicely done! i'll take 15, i'll pick em up at the sportsman show on sunday lol j/k surprised you aren't cross eyed

See what I can do to tie up a few...

As I've said it's the "GO-TO" pattern that "GETS-ME" to a skunk every time
I posted a thread here some time ago about what "mythic" go-to fly you have never caught anything on...

haha i was only kidding about the 15. i've never caught anything on a bugger myself either, mostly nymphs

Nice work Chase! The detail is unmatched! I tried my hand tonight on a size 14 nymph hook (smallest hook I have)...

The hook:

Here it is: I only black chenille with the flash in it... The hackles too long but it was all I had. Could i cut the hackle down a bit or would that be bad?

i like that also. looks good. the original one i had was about 1cm smaller than this picture about two sizes, educated guess, this is a size #8, but the exact same fly.

Great looking fly as always CC! Funny you don't seem to have much luck on the buggers.- most of the time that's what I have the best luck with in the Stillwater I fish. Different areas, different fish, different appetites I suppose :p

in my experience, buggers are only good for clear high water and when the fish gets over fished with roe and pinkies.
