19,000 Rainbows Counted & Sorted today & 70,000 Browns Hatched

Al organized the 1st of many work bees over the next 3 weeks, 7 Adults & 2 - 6 year old twin girls showed up to start the Counting & Sorting, 19,000 Rainbows down & 50,000? more to go plus the 70,000 Browns are hatched out & doing Great, next Saturday will be the next one.

They are all being sorted by hand, net them put them in a pail, out of pail into a wash basin bigger ones go into a big tank & the smaller ones go into a pail then they get counted & dumped into another tank, they are fed different size food so they will grow better & the smaller ones won't get ate by the bigger ones lol

Just want to ask how volunteering works. My son is not yet into fishing although he did caught a small bass the only time he went fishing with me. He's 9 years old and I'm sure he'd love to do this kind of activity. How would he be able to join? Thanks.

It's just a matter of being able to be there when the work is getting done, we hate to turn anyone down but we only have so much room around the Tanks, Al at the Hatchery needs to know numbers ahead of time so he can plan a schedule & spread the work load out if possible
