Hey all just an update I was fishing at this spot 2 days ago around 4pm and I have caught two large mouth bass and a 16 long pike all within 3 hours of casting roughly but of course I put the fish back instantly but really nice catches and the fish are there

Hey I was up there Sunday got 3 small catfish tons of panfish and the odd perch. It's a nice little spot to get the rust off. What kind of bait did u use. I went with worms.

OOS Bass will hit nightcrawlers evern if they are not allowed to....lol. I was enjoying the perch biting and all of a sudden..."sh@t Just got real"...it was a smb that had my drag screaming for a bit. I had a big perch fight like that so I wasn't sure Until it was 2 feet from me. I was uncertain that I can't really cut my line. Unhooked it in the water.

Will you actually get into trouble for catching an off season fish while fishing for a different kind as in the use of a worm for pan fish and you hook a bass but release it quick?

yeah I wasn't targeting the bass or pike, but anywhere along the river are a lot of perch and crappie that I was aiming for but I was mainly trying out my new reels for casting ability didn't thnk I was going to hook anything

Fishing is not what it use to be there.. Water conditions seemed to be improving over the past couple yrs, then due to the canal reconstructive project, I'm guessing that's why the water is all muddied up again. Tried last week, just got a few bullheads, but had to work for them. TO be fair, my buddy did lose a couple of big fish on dead minnows which we're guessing were Pike, if not a bigger catfish.

Where on Canal road is all this great fishing??? I am dying to know I passed by there 4 times this weekend slowed down to see if I could see anyone with a line in the water off the 400, not a soul.

I am dying to find out where. Perhaps I will actually get off the exit this weeekend LOL

if you get off at canal rd you can go east or west of the highway and then cruise around all the streets down there, there's a couple of canals and a couple of rivers down there you can't miss them. Years ago a lot of people used to fish the south canal.

My first time fishing it I got a small pike on a black fury Mepps where Canal Rd hits Highway 9. Further up Canal Rd I have gotten into tonnes of largemouth, no monsters though.

hey all, i am coming from vaughan so i take 400 north and at the canal road exit make a quick left and travel down and it'll be a road that u can only go left or right.

go left and travel down and u'll see a T point on the right hand side. infront of it u'll see a big metal wall with wooden posts. you CAN climb down just do it safely theres a few huge rocks that you can plant your feet on without falling down. i always climb down.

these are the fish i caught the other day.

1 is a large mouth bass roughly 5 pounds on a small black and orage husky jerk bait from rapala
and i think the second fish is either a white crappie or a rock bass also on the black and orange husky jerk
