well went out yesterday targeting some small mouth throwing an old school t rigged death before decaf goby. got into them harder then ever.
lots of BIG HAWGS. if you would like take a look at the video from the day...some nice fish thats for sure

WARNING - i do not hate SM bass, when i casted the one off at the start of the video its becasue this is my second trip out for bass this year and that bass was less weight then the bull dawg which i have been throwing all year prior to bass season! once i seen that muskie i am so use to figure 8ing, casting bulldawgs, tossing it out quick to the . apologies

Not sure if it's my computer .... but the VIDEO is not working for me.

OKAY... there it goes! *SMILES*

I love your "Figure 8 Action".... looks like you got it down good.

Not sure if sarcasm on the figure 8 comment? srs

??? ... (why is everyone so Defensive lately? Simple Compliment ... noticed the nice technique right away)

NO SARCASM at ALL!

The figure 8 is a fantastic method of enticing them right up close to the boat.

Takes practice and skill.

You do it well.

no no no no no no dont take it that way man. it wasn't like that.

I just didnt really do any significant figure 8s in the video so i didnt know what was going on. no hard feelings and i wasent getting defensive. i know when someone is trash talking and being ignorant and i tell em how it is. which isent the case man! ahh i can use a good laugh and if u where calling out my smallie figure 8 for the missed muskie or lack of figure 8 then props!/
confusion and being misinformed is the basis of all evil on the forums!

Never got a ski from the boat on a figure 8 although i do it on almost 78%+ of casts.
but this one time from shore in fall i got a nice muskie around 40” from SHORE on a figure 8. my first figure 8 fish & from shore!

I would call that the worst small mouth fishing in the whole world, and you couldn't figure 8 if your life depended on it !

And you call that a muskie? A real muskie would make a meal of it!

Hahaha I was waiting for that..

Was pulling your leg in light of the previous posts in this thread.

Your vids are great, keep 'em coming. I was smallie fishing today in turquoise water, and I swear I could hear that trippy music ;)

rofl i kinda figured that but was confused for the second time checking this thread aha good to keep me on edge i guess.
i had a 120 lined come back defence ready and almost had the Add Reply button hit. woulda been a mess. just kidding lol

thats aweomes tho lol i lol’ed in real life. :) haha nothing better than turquoise water biggies smalls.

I caught my PB smallie today. To give you an idea of the size, I thought they were sheephead swimming around, until I caught one and brought it up and realized they were smallies

After tiring it out, I was debating emptying my pockets and climbing down the ladder to grab it. Then I considered bringing it all the way to some shallower rocks off the pier. In a stupor, I yanked on it really hard for some reason, and pop went the hook. I estimate it to be 4lbs at an absolute bare minimum, and anywhere from 4 to 7lbs. I lost 2 others. I don't think I'm going to get much sleep tonight, because I'm planning to be there for first light tomorrow morning.

This time with a net!

no way..! i know what you mean. just a few days ago we seen big schools of suckers, carp and the odd sheep head swimming in different schools and all of a sudden, da heck? Big smallmouth bruiser cruising along with them!

hahaha debated emptying my pockets and climbing down the ladder to grab it. thats a good one

i know that feeling expecially using a tube jig when the bass just has the butt end of it in his mouth and no hook. and then they flop off right at the boat. sucks man. a 4lb+ smallie is a HAWG anywhere you go. i havent put any 4lb + fish in the boat this year thats for sure.

Good luck and get out there and get em in the net!

For reals  , the water is at a comfortable temp now, I was in it yesterday at Sandbanks. Alas, I'd have a beauty pic of a PB smallie had I went for it.

I do need to tone down my sarcasm a few notches, but as fishermen we develop the art and skill of deception to such a degree, it's hard to hold back sometimes.

The other day I was buying some water coconuts, and explained to the cashier that I wanted the smallest and heaviest ones. When she asked why, instead of telling her that they will contain the most water, I told her that I have this really annoying ex that lives a few floors below me, and she's always out on her balcony, yadda yadda...The cashier got scared and she said "Don't, don't do it.." Rather than explain to her that I was kidding, I told her to watch for me in the news hahaha I hope she eventually got it.

Packed all my gear, including my net, can't sleep. Will be departing in a couple hours. I'd be there now but the winged blood sucking parasites are out in full force. I think their activity increases with the brightness of the moon.

Oh god that is hilarious!!! Lolz

Very profesional video ProfishermanJones & thanks for sharing we have some lakes up here in Northwestern Ontario that are just loaded with Smallmouth Bass especially in the Quetico Park / Atikokan area lakes like Marmion Lake commonly called "The Floodwaters".
Cheers! :D

I caught the baby of the family, had a couple of the biggest ones on for a sec but they spat the worm and hook. Fished there from 5am to about 9am, and landed this one just before 6am.

Returned in the evening but the water was murky and I couldn't see where to fish.

I saw an absolutely huge pike this morning, I actually think it was a musky. It was as large as the big carp I was seeing, and these carp were gigantic. I was never big on pier fishing before but it really can be fun.

That's a small one, I found a pod of them and basically sight fished for them off a pier. Lunkers love crawlers, that's actually the name of a book.

Tried finding some crayfish there but no luck yet. Might give it another go, I especially want to try for that enormous muskie now and I'd like to land and get a picture with one of the trophy smallies in there.

Pretty light shade of Green & Stripes.
Some of the Smallies get as dark as a BOOT SALMON.

It's almost as if your guy was trying to be more like a largemouth!

*SMILES*

* I saw a big Pike sitting and hoving in about 15 feet of water.

Tried to offer a Grasshopper, but not even a glance.

By the time I changed my setup to a Big White Mr. Twister .... it was gone.
