Hey all just wanted to say high and share my catch my dad and I had on rice two weeks ago. We decided we wanted to have a fish fry and go and catch our own meal or go hungry . . . We did well for the day 3 take home LMB and about 10 jumbo perch, just amazing fish. We stayed within our limit and put back everything too big or too small. We like to some times take home and make our selves some nice fish for dinner. However, we almost always do catch and release fishing. This was about 2 hours and 6 fish caught. We had to use our cooler as a live well because the on on our boat was leaking. We put the fish right on ice as we docked to keep them as fresh as possible.

Going back to rice for some catch and release and try some muskie since the weather is getting cooler now.

Nothing like a wonderful Fish Dinner with Family!

Nice catches and report.

I always promote CATCH & RELEASE as I believe it is the number one factor on our Fish Resources.

HOWEVER, I certainly do enjoy a nice fresh caught meal as well. MMMMmmmm fresh self caught fish from a nice lake....

* 2 Salmon Hens a year (for Roe)

* A couple "Loosey Goosey" Squeezes

* 1 Brown for the GOLDEN ROE

- the occassional DEEP SET HOOK that would not make it

So I guess "Techniquely" I'm not 100% Catch & Release lol but 99%

Best of Luck this Weekend!

Rain for Friday, but the rest of weekend looking Good (Normal Temps)

Hey Blair,

I agree catch and release is the way to go, but once/twice a year its nice to take a few home. At our place nothing goes to waste and the animal always dies with justice to it in the form of a great meal shared by family.

This year has been great fishing, especially on rice for me so to put them back to grow is something I think should be practiced by everyone. But being able to take some of the catch home to share within reason is always a safe bet.

Not to mention while filleting them and cooking the beers do go down much much better.

Sunday looks good sun and clouds and cooler weather, looking forward to posting a great report next week for all you guys.

Tight lines,
Spee
