so after my two month fishing sabatical i have been back to work and not getting out as much, but managed to fangdangle a couple days this week to get out there, added bonus the willy wonka fish factory got about a half inch of mixed precip and an east wind on tuesday so wednesday we tripped. got to the creek late about ten in order to not freeze our hands of landing firstlight fish.... what do you know? people everywhere, and the LOOKS you get walking the bank, one guy lied about the presence of fish where they were fishing even after i seen his buddy land a nice 3 pound bullet, i guess i creep the bank that well. making our way to the slaughter pool seen that it was held down pretty good by 5 anglers. no biggie we can combat fish with them best of them...we got up under the tunnel and started fishing and at first it was a little choppy but after zugging a couple nice bowzillas out from under thier floats we all loosened up and started talking about where we we from and so on. after about an hour standing in the cold water they called us over and we kicked a little session and drank a couple tall boys. getting back to fishing we were now a grouping of eight anglers fishing WITH each other not AGAINST each other using different rigging and presentations to our advantage, rotating around the pool and not letting our tactics become static. this resulted in a crazy amazing gongshow of chrome smashing. there was many times there were triple headers going on. and no one ever crowded another angler or tried to get it in while they were "in the drift" it was known your turn was coming when the other guy pulled out. comrodery and courtesy was the order of the day and resulted in calm, relaxed fish that were more than willing to feed.......and a lot of happy steelheaders........crowds can work to your advantage its all in the company that you keep. i even dropped my float box on the bank and they told me it was on the bank after i was back in the water. what a change a month can make.
wont be posting any pics due to some flack i got about pics w/ backgrounds (like there are any secrets left out there) to bad cause many fish were 10 plus some silver and some coloured. personally went 11/13with a bonus 6 lb hen coho LOOSE what a wicked day on the water. but still yet to get my first 20 fish day of the year. maybe i will break 100 for the season with one of those days....we can only hope
P>S if any of you from that cambridge crew view this add me up as a friend ...you can come fish my pools with me anytime

fished my home waters today and it was a grind for two fish water low and clear but still ok for a couple hours

Thanks Blair and yes you do meet them year round to be honest i almost get as much enjoyment out of talking with like minded anglers as i do beaking steelies. i'm glad this report was of some value as Phisherman hit it up for the first timeand got some nice chrome.....looked like the S-bends on that one.
