December 4, 2012 there were 2.5 million protected rivers and lakes

December 5, 2012 there are now only 82 protected rivers and lakes.

Thanks Harper, anyone who voted conservative in the past election please think twice in 2015.

Ok your sad because we lost protection to those lakes. My question is what protection did we actually loose? What has any government done to protect any of those wilderness lakes?

the state of affairs on many waterways is a disaster as it is.....lets just make more cuts so it gets even worse  . heres an article about the cuts also made to conservation officers/ fisheries

It's basically a green light to push things through without enviromental studies, such as the recent Muskrat Falls hydroelectric project in Labrador. Harper this policy is dangerous to this country, everything is for sale. It's not just made in china, soon we'll be working for them on our own soil.

Yep basically this ^.

This bill takes away any of the red tape involved when projects will have an impact on waterways. Hopefully this bill doesn’t last too long.

We need to be increasing the protection on our freshwater resources, not decreasing it...

I wonder about the apathy of Canadian voters sometimes. The current regime are crafty and proficient at pulling the wool over our eyes. Bad actors in my opinion and I for one see behind the curtain. too bad more people don't realize the ulterior motives. Stripping labour rights (Air Canada), robocalls, proroguing why do we tolerate it?
