Hi I decided to purchase bait caster and thought about buying abugarcia revo stx
And their price range in e-bay was close to 200$. Is there any other suggestion of bait caster with similar price range(~200$)? my main target of fishing is Bass and Snake head, and just want to let u guys know I never used baitcaster before.
Ps. Btw some guy reccomend me to use left handle if I am a right handed is that worth it
When i fish?

Theres a lot of opinions on which side you should have your reel handle on, but just get the one you're most comfortable with. For example, I'm right handed and I like to reel with my right hand so my handle is on the right. If you're just starting with a baitcaster I would suggest starting out with something like a shimano citica or curado. Curado has dropped a lot in price and is well under 200 and the citica is at 100. Test it out first because some people just don't like baitcasters much.

well i think your suggestion can be useful since i'm the beginner of the baitcaster. thanks you for your suggesting.
i wonder bass pro shop carry those shimano critica or curado. have u ever seen those in the store?
ps. btw can they handle salmon fishing?

Ahhhhhhhh~ I can't decide which one to buy T.T (Revo Stx vs curado 200e)
I researched on google but they are both good bait caster.
Even peoples are having a fight about which one is better.....
Is there anyone who tried them before? Pls tell me....
I'm soooooo confuse which one should I buy

I have a shimano curado 201. Works great. Its about 5 old but drag is still smooth gears are still tight. Just a little wear on the body.

Abu garcia revo is very good too. I know a lot of people that love it. Its just a matter of which brand you like. Both are great.

As for left or right. Go with right hand if your a righty. Unless your expecting a fish to explode on your lure the moment it hits water. You have time to switch hands n still set the hook.

For salmon fishing no problem. Just have to have a big enough spool for line. : )

Thank you very much about your advice. Well.... Since I got an advice from person who uses curado. I guess I might need to buy shimano one, btw how's their after service? I heard shimano is one of the company that provide really good after service.

Ps. If you are using right handle, do you give an action to lure with left hand? If i have to use my left hand to action Isn't that a little challenge to the righty? How long does it gonna take to become familiar with using left hand for the action??

I've never had to deal with shimano for repairs or anything as their products have never broken on me. With that said, I can't really give an unbiased suggestion on the revo or the curado as I personally like shimano. Like I said before, just use whichever hand you are used to using and what you're comfortable with. you should probably stick with whatever side you were using on your previous spinning gear. If you reel with your right hand, then your left hand will work the rod as your retrieve. If you reel with your left hand, then your right hand will work the rod. I cast with my right hand, then switch my rod over to my left and reel with my right. I can work the rod perfectly fine with my left. My left arm actually wears out even faster if I was to reel with it.

hey man, I bought my first baitcaster this past february. I bought a Bass Pro Shops Johnny Morris signature series reel left hand retrieve, and ive gotta say i really love it. It casts those big senkos a country mile ;) . I would say that is an excellent reel for you because it was relatively easy to learn to use imo, and its less expensive than those models you mentioned. (~$150 when i bought it) Hope this helps! let us know what you decided to go with :)

Thats a good question about the service because I havent had any issues so far after 5 years of abuse lol. So maybe in another 5 years I can answer that question.

Yes adding action to lures with left arm might be a lttle different but not that much harder. If you love fishin than you will be a quick learner.

I just researched about JM signature and they are also consider as good baitcaster, but I saw couple guys complain about the durability of the reel. I'm kinda scare to purchase JM signature, but I really appreciate about your help. Ty! :)

Wow that's amazing durability!
I heard stx has really good durability, but thisone has strong durability also. Sounds like it's worth to purchase.
I hope I can learn action with my left hand also lol.

I own all three reels in question and in my opinion the JM signature is in the same price range but not in quality. As for the shimano or Abu I would say it has to do with the type of fishing you do the most I have the STX on my flipping stick because the drag can be tightened down to somewhere around 28 lbs and it helps when pulling the big ones out of the slop. The curado I have on a casting rod since it's hard to beat how far it casts and how smooth it is. If I had to purchase only one then I would go curado it's just so smooth and a better all around reel. Also take a trip to lebaron and see what there prices are like there usually a quite a bit cheaper then bps. Eaither way you are jumping right into a high end reel good for you! You won't regret buying quality. Hope that helps. Frank
