I did go fishing on Pond number 133 (Lake Aquatiane) in Mississauga before, this is a body of water which has rainbow trout (which is stocked in this pond i dunno why as the water is not very clean and I would not eat anything from this body of water) Bass Crappie perch and sunfish as well as little brown bull head catfish they are there in abundance I caught a bunch of them there. The water clarity is very Murky due to the constant rain water draining into the pond from the storm drains. I will post a pick of the tiny catfish I caught there using a float rig Euro style while using worms. I wanted to go out there some other time and try to find some structure for Bass as apparently there is lots of fallen wood and tree stumps in the lake which should hold some Bass of the LM variety. I was wondering if anyone fished this body of water before. I would be also interested in meeting up with someone to go check out pond 142 in Mississauga but not sure if this would not be a waste of time as the area around this body of water is fenced off or so it seems (I never walked around this pond so not sure there still maybe hope) Last time I went by there while going for a walk with my son I saw some 20 to 30 Canada Geese on the water also looking at this pond from afar it does not seem there is any aquatic vegetation such as lily pads or weeds just open water with what seems to be a rocky bottom. There is also a huge storm drain at the top of this reservoir. I am pretty sure that if we were to hop over the fence to try fishing this pond that maybe considered trespassing then again I did not see any no fishing signs I think this area maybe just fenced off as it is close to a public school and a playground so the obvious reason would be to prevent kids from going near the water and drowning. If anyone is interested in checking out this pond send me a pm and maybe we can arrange something one day on the weekend sometime.

Hi there I live in Mississauga and I also tried Lake Aquitaine, I did not have any luck with anything bigger then my hand. I would not go back there or recommend it to any one unless you are 4-6 years old.

Has anyone here tried fishing for Pike and Bass at promenade Park on Lakeshore by the now non existent four stack power generating station. Does anyone know any good spots for Pike and Bass there I live close to the area and would like to try my luck once Pike season opens.

I was there last weekend, only spent an hour or so casting at different spots no luck. I remember catching trout there a long time ago early-mid 90s I think. I saw 3 other ppl fishing. I will try again from the boat once I get it as its only 30 or so mins away from me and its free to launch(I think).

that pond is too popular. should be out of the list. in my opinion
Supposedly there is largemouth bass there they do hold a kids fishing tournament on Aquataine. And if no one is taking the fish for obvious reasons there should be a healthy population of Bass as there is Perch and Crappie in the pond as well I did see people catching them.

I see tons of people catching these baby catfish on Lake Aquitaine. I doubt there is anymore trout there.

Just to let you guys know I went to promenade park on lakeshore in Misssauga:

And I did see a dead pike about 5 to 6 lbs in the Bay close to Beach Street so there is definitely potential for Pike there. I will be giving this place a try when the season opens. I will try to move further up past the boat lunch as the bay goes into the lake and the water maybe deeper and see if I can get some pike action.

Cool, let us know as I want to try there again as well.

I suppose we all have to keep trying and maybe one day we find the magic spot where you won't get skunked. I went there this sunday and nothing but I did see some comotion in the water however that could have been a carp or something else.

When the weather warms up a bit, Promenade park would be a good place to meet. I have a couple of boys and that sounds like a good place to take them. But one thing is for certain, I am not wearing any pink pants like Mikey!

this is where i grew up... fished all over here for years

aquatiane does have bass, both lg and sm. the biggest ive seen out of there would be a 5+lb. we use to have a blast catching 1s and 2s all day long - even some perch and rockbass to go along with that. after i gruduated hs, i didnt fish there anymore, and i pretty much put down the rods for a long time.

i dont know what other lake you are talking aboot, but if you give me the cross roads, i can give you more information.

im back in the game now though

OK SO checked out BOTH Aquatine and Promenade by launch A today... used buoys, plastic green worms, and spinners... spent about 1-2 hours at each site and came up with nothing. I guess its not in season yet, @ aquatine saw a bunch of kids fishing for baby catfish, anyone know if there are fish in that fenced off area?

bass are out of season...illegal to target them even if you don't plan to keep any. I'm talking about Aquatine Park. There's no pike in there, but there are bass I believe.

if you want to get into fish at that location currently, use TINY jigs/tubes or worms for panfish --> rockbass, crappie, pumpkinseeds, bluegills. you can also target catfish or carp which are plentiful in the ponds...

I personally caught a PB 8lb carp at Aquitaine last year. My brother caught a giant goldfish (koi). We have also caught the aforementioned tiny catfish. My girlfriend and have both caught crappie on tiny inline spinners. I have not caught a bass there to date. However, I have only fished from the boardwalk, and there may be potential for bass in other areas of the lake when the season opens.

BTW - the carp and koi were caught on corn. The catfish were caught on worms.

I did not go until after the bass season opener. Therefore, I am unsure as to when would be a good time in the season to try it out. If you are close, it does not hurt to toss a worm and float in and see if anything is biting.

I live in Mississauga. Never fished Aquataine but I have had many unsucessful attempts at promenade park. Usually go after work sometime just to wet a line. Been there about 20+ times, fished all over, nada. Seen a couple white buckets though. Carp should start rolling soon. You'll see a whole bunch of them cruising. Never targetted them. I like my corn lol.
