kk i went fishing on the humber river today and seen ALOT of brown trout, like in groups, the problems was i used both the little green grub type lure and marshmellows, and still nothing, i even seen the lures and marshmellows go past them enough times and still nothing, the water is kinda of slow going and really shallow, a little past my ankles, so i was able to step on some rocks that were showing past the water surface and fish , my question is what type of lure or bait would you recommend for brown trout in these conditions?????????? pls any help

It was at Étienne Brûlé Park, the humber river flows through it, right about where the parking lot it, you can see the river, and just walk along and you can see the fish, where i aw them was about 20 metres after the bridge , and the bridge youll ssee too its from the parking lot. you got any tips? was soo frustrated, seen soo much but didn't catch nothing. i was there for about 5hrs, from around 12pm-6pm something like that.

try 4" or so size Rapala Floater in Black Gold.

Yes people may look at you like crazy snagger or some newb but browns will bite these lures*. Just like salmons.
Maybe cast it out not too far and have it hold steady on a calmer area and pray.

ya I agree with MikeyMikey, if nothing else use a soft plastic minnow 4" like a Gulp they seem to do the trick up my way great put a straight hook and small weight about a foot up to control it but allow the minnow to drift slowly giving it slight jerks along the way. They should smash it.....key word being should.
Good luck
Chris

Baby bass rapala sinking 3" running at 5-6 ft'

Cought a 7lb brown at ash bridges back in early spring.

not to sound like a downer but i highly doubt those groups of fish you seen were brown trout. it sounds more like
you were fishing for the millions of spawning suckers that are swarming the rivers right now. if your still certain that they were browns i would try floatfishing with a real worm, caught browns ranging from 4 inches to 15 lbs browns on just a plain worm. also if those fish are suckers then they would also hit worms and you could have a fun day catching 20+ suckers on worms. done it just last weekend while trying for some late season bows.

Very hard to pick out a brown in the Humber with the water colour I think LICENSETOPIN has a point you sure they were browns?

As for your marsh mellow thing scrap it!

I heard the only reason people use that rig on the credit is because the mellow floats and the hook gets dragged into the salmon mouth when they swim by much better rigs that are 10* more productive.

Don't get me wrong I remember being rigged up that way a couple of times as a kid. Can't say it worked well though!

Note: Don't waste your time with Worm on the Humber the little goby buggers will pick it clean before and Trout gets a chance!

Little Kleo something bright in the stained water.

STOP the marshmellow talk NOW!

Talk only if it is related to roasting in camp fire.

Thank you.
