ive noticed some people do this it seems like an honest mistake with some but that diagram is correct. if u want a pic just support the belly or hold the tail other wise try and keep the fish vertical when holding them from the mouth and yes u want enough pressure to keep there mouth open and to keep ur grip but dont over do it

ps when handling a fish picture nemo u dont want to kill nemo :shock: :shock: :shock: then the fish will start spreading rumours about the guy who killed nemo and as soon as the fish see u they swim :mrgreen:

Makes sense, if someone were to pry my mouth open that way I think it would mess me up too.

Also for pictures I think the vertical or horizontal with belly support pics look better in my opinion.

You also have to factor in the bass thrashing aroung. He may not look big enough to justify the belly support at first but wait until he tries to break free...

all fish no matter the species( exception to gobies) deserve proper handling an respect. unless you're taking it home, it's your responsibility to make sure it survives

I've always seen people holding bass horizontally like that without any support and to me it just looks painful for the fish.

I've always held vertical.
