Who ever that great gentlemen was in Bayfield that answered my many many questions in Bayfield while fishing with his little girl (I believe it was his girl having a hot chocolate in the back of the truck bed), thank you so much for the time and the tips. Nice to see friendly folks around the area.

I am headed up to Bayfield this weekend for the first time. Any recommended spots at this time of year? This is my first year fishing since I was about 10 years old so almost 20 years. I have been doing well so far at the pier in Grand bend with a couple of monster carp and a channel cat. I have heard very good things about Bayfield River and would like to experience it first hand. I realize bass is out of season right now, but was just hoping to possibly get some tips on bait for the non-fly fisherman.

I havnt seen many trout along that stretch of huron for a while now.
Last week i saw 2 gnarly black 1/2 dead fuzzy ones, thats it.

Think its pretty well done for (smaller) huron tribs.

Im sure there are a few tho...
