or you can pull the end where you're going to make a cut.Jacklake said:One thing about fluoro is that it is very slippery. Usually it takes more wraps to secure a knot than would be the case for mono.
Secondly, any knot should be lubricated (with spit) before tightening to reduce friction. An it helps if the wraps are squeezed/rolled in your fingers a bit before tightening to 'teach' the material to compress. Then tighten the knot slowly. It is friction that causes the curls. If the knot tightens too fast the heat of friction causes a bit of stretch and the pigtail. My $.02.

honest question; how many wraps do you need to do? i was always under the impression of atleast 10?w_ boughner said:I use snell knots on #12 octopus and I can tie it as fast as a clinch knot
Nick Evans said:Davey knot and trilene knot are both great, I wouldn't suggest a clinch knot, it has a lower breaking point with fluoro. Great for mono and braid if tied correctly though.
Uni to Uni is a great knot for that.Knuguy said:I use a palomar to tie on hooks but not sure what to use when tying line to line e.g fluoro to braid.
