16 year old IR4J saves up and buys himself a pair of Simms G3s, after a month of fishing (maybe 5 outtings) I blew through one of the knees, full seam separation. Send them back to simms, and get a response along the lines of "After examining your waders we regret to inform you the extra stress you put on the product is not covered under our simms warranty (see blank about blank, extra wear etc...)"

So how is 16 year old me putting more wear on a pair of waders then the guides that fish 300+ days a year? Who knows, I went back to my bps waders for a couple weeks and ended up with the bares that year at christmas (canadian company, and lifetime warranty)
 
Sorry to hear that IR4J! Who did you send that to to "investigate"? I know there is a dealer downtown who can evaluate the waders for you on behalf of Simms. I bought my waders through him so when the Salmon season is over, I am hoping to bring it to him and get my little patches/stitches corrected! I'm sure I can do it myself, but Id rather have Simms do it :cool:

I bought the waders through wilsons, but sent them directly to simms on my own behalf..
 
I believe I bought mine at Drift Outfitters, Location looks about right but the name seems different.

It depends on who you deal with too, they can make claims on behalf of Simms, stating if its a repair, replace or your fault!

Helps to have friends I guess! ... Does anyone work at simms? aha...
 
I find it best to deal with a retailer who sells more than just waders. Specially if they know you. You won't be buying waders every week, but tackle, that's like twice a week business....

Drift took over the old wilsons location, keeping in mind my story goes back 5 years...
 
Of course, but this is a flyshop in downtown Toronto! Who has time to go there every day? He did give me a great price on my Waders and boots though! I am happy to say I still have my receipt, manuals and box for my waders. When you buy something expensive, you have to take care of it!

Slightly off topic, but does anyone have a "wash process" for their waders? (certain soaps or methods that work best)

Lol that I haven't thought about, I just thought a dip in the river is wash enough....I do disinfect it before I use from time to time.
 
Im sure there would be some specialized cleaners by now, I use dish soap, but if someone has something else they use I am open to suggestions!
 
There are goretex cleaners for those products, but I use dishsoap too... Very mild, no need to worry about it... Good enough for those oily ducks, good enough for me.
 
@Diana, You may scare off all the fish with your fish odour!

It actually attracts them and satisfies me all day long. Nothing like smell fish stank. *deeply inhales* I can smell it already!

Lmao! I think that should be my new "attractant", using a small mesh like bag and hang some fresh roe off my waders.
