In high, dirty water I like to search for fish in slow moving water, typically close to shore in shallow water. As river55 mentioned, slow down the presentation and up size the bait.

Personally If the River I usually fish is "Blown" due to SW winds, if I dont shake my head and hike out, I set my drifts closer to shore!!

This is a question I asked earlier that never really got answered, so winds do effect if water gets blown?

yes but all systems are hit differently. Rain is the number 1 blow out, but this time of the year the thaw is biggest playa in the game.
