Bluffers Park is located at the bottom of Brimley Road S. in Scarborough. You will want to keep right when you reach the bottom of Brimley Road and head towards the little pond area shown on the map below.

The cross hair on the map shows the actual location I fished.

I would always head to this spot around 5:30pm during the month of June, July and August and stay until the sun started setting. I was guaranteed at least one fish per visit and considering the size of the fish and length of time I was there I consider that decent. Here are a couple pictures of fish I pulled out of this spot.

I used a simple hook and weight setup on 10lb Berkley line, with a fresh can of corn. 4 kernels on the hook and handful thrown to the area you wish to fish. I would let the line drop to the bottom and settle and then slowly reel the line in until it was nice and tight. Then I would find a Y shaped stick I could shove in the ground to rest the rod on. When you get a bite your rod tip will bend. The fish here do nibble at first and tend to run into the line so wait until that rod tip bends before you set the hook.

Here are some pictures of me reeling one in and some shots of the location.

I have never used anything other than a fresh can of corn considering the luck I have had using it. I know some people in the area use worms, but don't end up catching anything (at least when I am there)

nice fish.

i have never been carp fishing so im curious what techique do you do when fishing for carp.

Nice.

Are the ponds connected to lake Ontario? Or are all the fish landlocked to these ponds only?

They buddy.thx for info.I live very close to Bluffers park.Do you think if we go this time we can catch carp there.Let me know.
Also why is the carp in last pic looking reddish.let me know.thx

Well I believe it's a Koi

I am not sure how the carp fishing is right now, maybe someone else can chime in here? I only remember going between June and August. If you are close to the spot it wouldn't hurt to try it out and report back. Where exactly do you live?

I can't be certain whether or not fish can come or go here. I have seen much larger carp in the marina area so I can only assume someone stocked this pond and they aren't growing to their maximum.

that pond used to be open to the lake a few years ago before the gates were put in. So I assume the carp came from there and then reporoduced.

Ya that's perfect. I was at Bellamy and Kingston but I moved out to Ajax in October. It's too bad, I am going to have to find a spot out here.

More like a big toilet with a few carp in it. :)

That is an extremely good point. Please don't even consider eating the fish out of here.. I have seen people keep carp from this spot and that's just nasty.

Nice report !! Have you tried fishing for the bigger islands/harbour carp yet ? I need to hook me one of those 15 lbers

Would anyone be interested in a carp fishing GTG in late may at the islands or Bluffers? If there is interest I would be willing to organize it.

I haven't had the chance to fish much in the past few years and never really ventured far from Scarborough during the time I was. I would love to get to the islands and try some fishing though.

nice cathes

but please tell me why that fish looks the way it does?

I can only assume it is because God created it that way. It's a Koi as far as I know and that is what they look like. Slimy bottom feeders like the carp you are probably more familiar with.

I remember during last May when I went to the Island for some pike...

There were ton of huge carps just soaking up sun right at the surface.

They do get spook'd very easy.

I guess you can some what do top water to catch those monster carps?
Break on a hook ?

One thing for sure... you would need a partner as you would need to use a net and some places are higher up from the water.
