For what its worth, I've caught many a carp but they are a nuisance. I 100% agree that they invade and destroy the ecosystem of any body of water they inhabit.
Just because they are a good fight doesn't make them a good sportfish. They grow so damn fast too that it is hard for natural big game predators like pike to actually control their population. I've never seen a carp I liked and if I had my way I'd eliminate every damn species of carp from every body of water in North America
