cant be sure that it was but have never seen a fish acting like this one was. swimming around in circles on its side, wish i was able to capture it to get a better idea of what was going on. i think im gonna call the ministry about it anyways and see what they say.

Might have been a bladder infection, sometimes fish are not able to control their swim bladders and end up floating. Having kept aquariums for the past 20yrs I’ve come across this problem before. They end up trying to dive but can’t and end up going around in circles.. Let’s hope it’s a single case of bladder infection and not botulism.

i talked to midhurst mnr today and they took a detailed report... infected swim bladder eh triniboy thats a cause that never crossed my mind or anyone else i talked to about it. ive seen fish with blown swim bladders from pulling them up too fast while ice fishing and they normally have trouble diving, this fish was suspended in the water column about 2 ft down in a 5 ft pool.

That fish expercienced the Dozer hook set and remains crippled for life.

I would think that there are many things that could cause a fish to swim like that, so until an autopsy is done, we will probably never know.

You must swing like i do bagmunchers come flying out of the water with half thier face torn apart. I hate when it happens and will normally leave the nursery pools alone
