Canadian Tire has their breathable xplore waders on until Thursday May 9th, I don't know how good they are maybe some of the other members can advise.

Don't get them, they are terrible quality. My brothers was ripped even before he opened the box and mine ripped the very first time I used them. They are cheaply made IMO.

These are not their lower end waders, last week they had on the neoprene camo for $83, I would think that if you were going to wear them every day and go bushwhacking with them on then I think go for the higher end waders that will take the abuse.if you dont have $300-$450 and you only have $100 here is an option IMO

Well said for a cheaper option. I have many times gone ahead after being warned about certain products. Found them to be just in line with what I need.

I can't justfy spending $300+ on fishing equipment, that would be like taking food outta my sons mouth (not that we are poor)
one good thing about buying from major retailers on most things they have no issues exchanging or refunding your money for something that is sub-par quality.

I know these waders and they actualy are a lower end wader. If you are the kind of angler who gets out of his car takes 3 steps and you're in the river then maybe those lower quality waders are ok but most serious anglers walk through hell and high water to get to their special holes, you need quality waders to do that, like my father always said "I don't have enough money to buy cheap"

Hrrrrm..... what's wrong with getting out your car walking 3 steps and you're in the river.
Everybody's circumstances are different just as some peoples pockets are deeper than others.

Hrrrm........ nobody said there's anything wrong with walking 3 steps and you're in the river but in that scenario you're also in the river with a bunch of meat hunters and you've got 30 people fighting over 2 fish.
Manufacturers of lower end goods want people to think just like you "I don't have deep pockets so I should buy those waders right now for $100". Well, that person who has $100, it took maybe 4 weeks to save it so if they save for 3 or 4 months they can have waders that will last a very long time. People rip themselves off when they buy lower end goods......a good deal on the other hand is a different story.

So what about people that is on fixed income, disability or even on welfare how long is it going to take to save up for a decent pair of Simms?

As a kid I did quite well with a hand line, a lump of lead, a few hooks and some bait. When I got a few years older I finally got an old fiberglass rod and a spinning reel and somehow I managed to catch fish.
You may feel the need need to walk through hell and high water to be a REAL Angler climbing over barbed wire and terrorizing the sheep. I on the other hand prefer the easy access on week days when the meat hunters as you call them are back at work.
I will be reluctant in future to make any posts here as it seems it is beyond my means to be a REAL Angler!

RonnieTO, I didn't come on this forum to argue with you but you keep trying to put words in my mouth, you keep writing the word REAL as though I wrote it first and you're throwing it back in my face, barbed wire? terrorizing sheep? you really went off on a tangent there. Your entire post has only a hint of a rebuttal to my post but a whole lotta you trying to bash me.......not cool....this is the internet, you can't see the expression on my face so don't assume that I'm saying things in an arrogant or mean way

I think the point being made is that if you buy cheap, your likely to buy twice. I can vouch for the Canadian tire neoprenes, as I have had a pair for 4 seasons of hunting now, and they are excellent! I don't know anything about he breathables though, and am a little suspect.

guys you are missing the whole point... when I was in CT I saw breatheable waders regular price was $199 on sale for $99. They werent the cheapest ones that they had, look them up on their website.
I dont know what it is with some people, ok they are not for you, thats fine but all this negative comments about a pair of waders.
if I had a $100 I would have bought them, but I'm on disabilty so I dont have extra money. I have a pair of rubber boots that arent high enough to get me to the other side of Bronte Creek, so I am not only limited in mobilty I am limited where I can go and fish.
I am trying to have a bit of dignity being able to get out now and again and try and keep the dark clouds away. I have spent all I have and who knows what is waiting for me around the corner... you are all very fortunate that you can afford all the good gear and have the health and the ability to hit those HOT spots.

Ronnie I apologize, sometimes I'm very near sighted and don't take enough time to realize that everybody has their own situation, I hope that everything turns out well for you.

I hear yah loud and clear my friend..

I looked at those waders the other weekend when they had the $100 waders on for $50 and I thought they where a pretty decent quality . The fact that they are half price at $100 now means they are a very good deal in my opinion. And no I do not own a pair it is just my opinion from looking at the material and quality of construction. I have seen lesser quality waders at more money than the $200regular price tag on these waders.
