Hi, I was out today at one of my favourite places to fish and hooked into a NICE 4.5-5 pound bass. When i tried lifting it up from the water it was half way up and the fish jumped off the hook even though i wore it down for around 2-3 minutes. To prevent this from happening again i would like to get a bridge/dam fish net. I dont have much to offer money wise but i got some reels i am willing to trade. Here is what i have: Mitchell 300xe, Abu garcia cardinal 104i, and a and a Mitchell avocet gold IV (all are brand new but dont have the packaging) I am willing to trade. By the way it has to have at least a 50 foot rope. Thanks for reading.

I've seen people make them out of an old bicycle rim, remove the spokes, put the mesh from a regular net onto the rim, tie three 24" ropes to the rim at three equidistant spots on the rim, tie the ropes to each other at the opposite end and then tie your 50' rope to those ropes.
I would do that but I dont have the time between college and work.. so that is why i am asking if someone could make it for me.

So the fish fell 25' after it spat the hook? You really shouldnt be fishing from a bridge, most of the time you see guys fishing on bridges they dont know what they are doing and dont catch much. What if you want to release the fish? The time it takes to hand bomb it all the way up and all the way back down will be terrible for the fish. Just walk down to the river and all your problems are solved....

I didnt think i was going to catch a giant from there. My friend told me that this spot held alot of walleye, so i was trying to get some in the slot size for a nice little fish fry.
