I have heard from some old timers that brown trout inhabit some streams and rivers around janetville area. Anybody here ever encountered a brown in the area??

I don't know about that location specifically, but I do know a few places to catch resident stream browns in the Kawarthas. I worked very hard to find these spots and no way am I willing to discuss them.

Do some research, spend a few days driving around trying spots, and you might be surprised. There are big resident brookies too if you put in the time to find them.

I wouldn't believe a thing those old timers say. Silver platters are nice but hard to get these days especially on the net. Go out and explore , that's the fun of it.

I have a couple good brookie spots but don't want to overuse them. I recently discovered a creek that may hold rainbows. Haven't had time to try yet but the trick with these creeks is finding accessible places to fish. Landowners are often not accommodating.

I tried the furnace falls in irondale but no trout. Also the baxter creek but the are super wary. Saw a small group of little browns but they didn't want anything I was presenting. Damn tricky fish!!
