What kind of buzz bait do you guys use and in what colour? Do you prefer the single blade or the dual blade?

i have used the strike king models primarily. haven;t really used a lot of topwater lures. but i;ve been goin to them a bit more towards the end of last season. i prefer the single blade models, and a white/chartreuse color. i don;t really think color is very important with a bait like this, only because it is retrieved quickly, and makes a lot of bubbles and water displacement, makin it hard to see the color, a bass is gonna look and see the action and that will trigger the strike, not the color of it. just my personal opinion on that though.

i started using a single bladed one last year.
have still never caught anything with it.
i don't think they are as effective for shore fishing popular areas. i can however see bass pounding these things in less pressured areas.

i saw video on youtube about people catching tonz of bass with this bait.just type buzz bait in youtube and u will see urself

i've never tried these baits. but i definately want to try it out one day. they look expensive though... :)

I like the single blades better than the duals. Like uglyfish said I don't think the colour matters much. But all mine are bright colours, like yellow or bright green. I've had pretty good luck with them but mainly use Jitterbugs for topwater.

Hey, I use the White, with a big tail of the back and usually a trailor hook, had many bass yes but the pike hammer these things back home. If im fishing topwater for bass, teh tiny headon torpedo's work great or hula ppoppers/jitterbugs. I also bought 3 or the new zara spooks they basically zigzag when you twitch them im loking forward to trying them this summer.
If the fish are their the will almost hit anything on the top, I rememebr seeing bass hitting the surface once and I didnt have any top water baits on me. I grabbed a tube jig and put a straight hook threw it and a weithgb about 3ft up the line so i could cast. I tossed it out and retireved it fast so it stayed in top, and i was nailing them all afternoon.

that sounds like a floating tube. i believe BPS sells those.

well it was'nt but i improvised that day i didnt have any floating lures in my box, i was fishing small craknbaits ect but it was super weedy, but i had some worm harnesses and tube jigs set up, and rigged up this contraptionn so I could fish topwater.
Was a great day, and it worked.

reminds me of the shows on tv always reminding people to improvise and try something new
but obviously it works. gotta put my thinking hat on when i'm fishing too.

worth a shot man, you never know until you try it, and he even the pro's get skunked, so if it doesnt work at least you know.

Sometimes when the lure isn't working, try a trailer on it. I have had success just by adding a trailer, when before there were no takers.

Ya sometimes it only takes a small change to entice the fihs, whether its a trialor as mentioned, or changeing the colour. I have also tried bending the blade on a spinner, to give it a different action seems to work caught a couple largemouth on it last year.

Was that to flatten the spinner blade or to make the angle sharper so that it would create more action?
