oastler nice...you will enjoy 6 mile and more importantly(if you wver wan to camp again) wifey will enjoy it

Grundy is nice, if you want hot fishing you might want to get outa the park though

6 mile does look like a nice place. I've heard that the train at Oastler can get a little bit much at times.

The one thing that I liked about Grundy is that it looks like there is a lot to do there. There are 3 different lakes, all accessible by canoe, from what I understand. There are also hiking trails and apparently the scenery is great. Because it's a little bit farther North maybe it wouldn't be as busy as 6 mile lake and I hear that they have a lot of sites with good water access as well as great fishing.

Also, I do like the fact that there is no motorboat traffic on Grundy Lake. This will be ideal because we will be renting a canoe to do some fishing.

You might try Killbear---beautiful park with lots of nice hikes. You can rent a boat in nearby Dillon. It's been years since I've been there but I understand the fishing is pretty good. It will be a busy park, though, as will be Grundy.

killbear is fully booked before the snow even melts---its the hottest spot on the map

Camping the Bruce Peninsula is bizarre... as remy pointed out, the georgian bay side is frigging cold and crystal clear... the huron side, however, esp. dorcas bay (singing sands) is like bathwater...

it`s one of my favourite regions...

but try this...

http://www.haliburtonforest.com/

a wolf compound, camping or cabins, bass like crazy, a billion lakes but not as crowded as algonquin on the road access lakes, hell even a tree canopy tour and a flippin`submarine...

seriously...

massassauga rattler--venemous--parry sound hospital has anti venom on file --trust i know.

Up in the Bruce here we got some rattlers as well, can't say I know anyone who got bit tho.

Did you step on one Remy?

no--they are the massasauga rattler--i have learned about them alot after a friend of mine got bit--they are dangerous however very elusive thankfully--every sake has venom however they only call them venomous when its danger to us really--seems like that anyway--even water snakes and garter snakes have a mild neurotoxin--all snakes have it just most dont have enough to kill anything more than a mouse....rattlers here are the worst of them all with a venom that requires hospitalization and serious enough for the parry sound hospital unit to carry antivenum. i have had someone i knw get bit by stepping on one near mcrae lake actually-not fun he was airlifted. i backpack alot and always wear hiking boots and use walking sticks to clear the path--

fill a wading pool with coy and camp it out in the backyard. or most provincial parks will have some fishable areas including docks. depending what part of the province it could range from sunfish and bullheads to speckled trout.

Restoule PP. its the end of the road just south lake nippissing. 2 lakes, Tons of trails and not too busy. friendly deer , a few docks you can fish from.. off peak times its on the honor system. check it out

Thanks guys.

Chalkhorse - Haliburton Forest actually looks like an interesting place. Definitely tons to do there. I might have to check that out as well.
