Hey girls and boys! new to the forum not new to fishing.
Got a question for the ones that really have been doing the pinning for a long time or just have experience with a bushing reels and bearing reels...I've been pining for 10yrs now and I own 2 different centre pin reels both bearing reels. do any of you have experience with a JW Young or john Milner bushing reels? Are they any better than the islander ? Are any of those worth the $650? Or should I just stick with the islander bc they about the same???? I want to get one more reel and no more after this one lol....

Bushing reels take a while to break in and are not as good as a bearing reel in frog water. If you are going to buy another reel then buy a Milner bearing reel.

Ok so basically don't even bother then? If bearings is the way to go, how much better is a Milner compared to a islander?

Milners are one of the best reels you can buy and IMHO head and shoulders above an Islander. But perhaps my Islander was an exception.
