Hey guys. Went out to cooks bay yesterday @ Gilford. It was a nice day aside from the wind that picked up here and there but i have a nice fold up portable to get away from that! Walked out to about 25ft or water and fished from 8am-12 with very little results.

Walked back in to about 18-20 ft of water and started slaying the perch, It was off and on but when they were unger the hole we couldn't keep em off their hooks. We released more then we kept alot of small ones we caught 4-6" kept a few for dinner 8-10"

Was a decent day out there, @ 25ft of water the water was crystal clear we could see everything under us, in the shallower water it was a little murky but it produced alot of action.

While moving spots we came across a regular there who had a monster perch, One of if not the biggest ive seen in my days. He was kind enough to let me hold it and take a picture i wishi i took its measurements as well but i didnt even think about it at the time.

Thanks for the report & that is a big perch!

I am going there next weekend with wife. Hope the warm weather this week does not thin the ice :-(

There's bigger, trust me, it's scary. I was there on friday last week, 35-40 ft of water. The girlfriend pulled up a 13 inch just under a pound and a half. Wasn't really thinking about taking a picture, cause the iphone was dead, and we were hungry! But there are most certainly some monster perch this year!. A buddy caught a 14 inch, close to 2 lbs, 3 week's ago. I think he's in the holding's for 2011 biggest simcoe perch.
