Hello all,
I'm heading up to Craigleith park with a number of friends at the end of the month and was hoping someone could give me some tips on what to try up there. I've seen scores of posts of people talking about the fishing there in fall and spring but the summer seems to be not nearly as discussed. I'll be bringing up my boat but it's just a little 15' with a 20HP so not looking to drive all over the place. Not too particular on what I'm aiming for either as the people I am bringing are all generally new to fishing and I just want them to have fun catching something, but I've never fished the big water so my knowledge is next to useless. If anyone could give me a pointer or two on what to be looking for or where to go I would very much appreciate it.
Thanks

guys are getting lakers not really many salmon around yet from what I hear, seen a good number of boats out from Craigleith the other morning. Good luck

Lakers eh? What depth should I be looking for them in? Ive fished almost exclusively on shallow inland lakes for pike and bass so I've never caught a laker before. If I go along shore looking for weeds will I find some bass and pike or are they not too common on the bay?

I've called the park up and found out there is no boat launch there, so that'll change things slightly. Ill have to drive to Thornbury or Collingwood. Any recommendation on which of those would have better opportunities off shore?

Actually the boats I saw were probably targeting bass. You will need downriggers for the lakers and other parts of the lake might be more productive but you can fish pike and bass out from collingwood
