I was looking for a place I could fish without a boat near Toronto and I found one I'd like to share: Stella Maris Marina in Bradford (as new member I just wanted to contribute something. lol). There were a bunch of people fishing for crappie and filling their buckets. Only one other guy, Leo, fishing for pike but he had caught a few. He said that he had limited out there a few times. The owners of the marina were nice. They gave me the fishing report and pointed out the good spots. . One of the weirdest things I've seen in a while was a guy catch a whitefish in the river. I've pulled them out of 80 ft of water on Lake Simcoe but I've never seen someone catch one in a river. I'm attaching a picture. I caught a two pike but neither was over 36" or worth a photo. Anyway, everyone seemed to be catching and there was plenty of room (they owners said that were was over 1000' of docks there). I'll be back up there again soon with friends but I just wanted to pass it along. Pike, crappie, bass, carp, perch and a whitefish. It seemed very productive and I'd recommend it to anyone wanting good fishing without a long drive up north (it took me 40 mins).

Tight Lines,
Bass Hunter

They were called Halfway Haven before. How much do they charge now to fish of their docks? Thanx

Hey ill be heading up to Bradford tomorrow thought id check this out whilst im there, i tried to google it but could not find the place where exactly is it?

Did you notice this sign while you were there Bass Hunter ? And did you need to pay a fee as mentioned the owners were nice. Since it's a retreat for religious meditation I assume it was nice & quiet there.

Hey BenD, if you have a GPS here's the address...21595-21675 Bathurst St
East Gwillimbury, ON L9N.. There is a box at the entrance where you drop off the cash with your name and car plate # and you can fish out of the docks...good luck

Went up there today not to fish but to check out the spot. Talked to the owner's son and daughter. There is a boat launch for $20, very weedy now (well weed does grow fast in warm weather), I think it is a fairly ideal spot to fish in March. They have stationed house boats for rent, toilet on site. Failrly nice young fella but he wanted $10 just to check out the place (WTF  ). I simply told him I was here to check out the place. He said it is ok this time but must pay next time. I will be gladly to pay if I use the facility but I was there to find out more info. Did not sit well with me in regard. Anyways, fee is $10 per person upon enter.
