I often drive through the old village of Meadowvale, on Old Derry Road between Mavis and Creditview, and to me it looks like a possible spot for fishing. But I have never seen anyone there! A quick check of the regulations doesn't seem to indicate that it's off limits (but I may be mistaken), so what's the deal? Anyone have any info? I would like to expand my fishing experiences into some of the salmonidae, and I'm hoping that it would be a convenient spot for wetting a line.

4th Saturday in April brother (no?)

Oh I don't mean seasons, I've never seen anyone there at any time of year, and I pass by there often. I've just taken a look at the area on Google maps, there seems to be a park just north of Old Derry Rd., maybe that's where everybody goes. Next time I'm near there I'll have a look.

Check the regs. Or our sage-like minister of the Credit, Blair

The area you are referring to is currently closed and as CC stated, become open at the end of April until the end of December.

I'm always down for trying out new sports. I'm not too far from that area either. But that opening weekend, me n alfie plan to be at the grand! I need to change my luck there :p

As I said, I know that. But I've never seen anyone there at any time of the year.

Anyway, had a chance to pass through again today and I checked out the parking lot at least, once the 4th Saturday in April rolls around I'll give it a try if I pass through and have some spare time.

Most do not fish the credit that far up. If I were you, I would give it a go on the opener.

i know of a few sports near the forks of the credit, always hold fish, not sure if there be any rainbows, but lots of browns and others...

very few hidden treasures left around now a days..
