I dont get very much free time except for weekends or evenings depending how beaten up I am at work. I envy those that go fishing during the week day because there are less people.

Hey Rapala Boy,

What gear are you using? Looks like a spinning rod? I have a 9.6ft St Croix Wild River MH /w a Stradic 4000 and I'm having a tough time floating... I've lost countess bites b/c I had too much slack in the line. I'm debating going to fly fishing b/c of this..

fly fishing is tougher lol. I would recommend a 13' rod minimum for line control. With a long rod the need for a center pin decreases IMO. Good Luck!

Which line ar you using as you main line and leader because that rod and reel can handle up to 17 pounds?

I go very heavy for salmon with 14lb mainline and 10lb fluorocarbon. I'm considering upgrading the fluoro to 12lb!

Seriously, so I shouldn't use 20 pound braid main line and a 15 pound fluorocarbon leader.

Not for float fishing lol. Especially if you have a long flexible rod. It would be kind of overkill

Why? will the line be too heavy and pull down the float and where do you buy your tackle(hooks, lines , bobbers and rods and reels)?
