Spent the afternoon making some homemade boilies today... Trying to get ahead for the spring carp season...

The recipe I've got smoothed out

500g base mix (equal parts semolina flour, soy flour, and corn meal)
6 large eggs
3 tbls oil (I use corn oil)
2 tbls flavor ( this varies depending on strength)
Powder dye

If you use liquid dye just ad a bit extra base mix

Mix dry ingredients
Mix wet ingredients
Then ad wet to dry and mix

Then I put a bit of oil on my hands... Then work the dough with your hands until consistent...

Then you roll sausages...

Then place sausages on rolling table

Roll em

Then boil em till they float... 2-3 minutes

Then youll want to strain them and spread them out to dry...

I let em dry around an hour or 2...

Then place the boilies in freeze bags... Label what flavor they are... And freeze em...

Stupid question but do the sausages turn into balls automatically when cooked?
Thanks for the post, very detailed.

They look yummy, maybe I'll dip a patch in chocolate for myself.

If you look you will see that the sausages are laid out on a " rolling table " . It is used to make balls out of the sausages. When done they are called boilies.

A little late but here's a good video on a dough bait.YouTube carp bait
I tried this bait today but it didn't turn out same texture as the one in the video. I can see this being a great bait for carp if made properly. Very basic too compared to some other carp baits.

Does anyone know why mine turned out very sticky? I added an extra piece of dry bread which seemed to help a bit

Boiles
Boil corn meal. 1 cup of corn meal and 3 of water . Boil until you have a hard paste. Mix the paste with regular withe flour and add your flavor and sweetener and color . Make the sausages and then boil the balls for 2-3 min. Let them cool and dry.
Boiles
Bird seeds. 1/2 roast them with cooking oil. Add the other 1/2 and boil them to a hard paste. Take the paste add some flour until you reach a good consistency for sausages. Roll the and boil for 2-3 min again. Before the last boil you add sweetener. Don't ruin the paste by adding any other flavor.
Corn
(my number one, never fail me)
On the spot mix for spring coil feeder
Wonder bread, canned corn, sweet liquid.
Mix in you hand one slice of bread one spoon of canned corn and one tee spoon of syrup (maple, caramel etc) and 1 tsp frim the liquid from the corn until you have an even paste. Put it on the feeder and corn on the hair.
