Ok, I've been drifting roe since the runs started with the occasional switch to plugs, spoons and spinners once in a while. I'm going to try to drift some jigs...marabous as substitute to roe. i don't know what the success rate of marabou jigs for trout but would try. Just need some advice how this setup would be like or is it the same setup as drifting a roe. Thanks in advance.

Drift it just like roe. Other times I will drift it higher in the water column, I try to slow down the drift a bit. As for the success rate... well, I know of a guy who pretty much only fishes with jigs, once you learn how to use 'em, they'll become one of those go-to baits. Have fun experimenting.

this is good stuff dozer. my setup would be slip bobber...split shot...swivel...fluoro leader (24") split shot (18" away from my jig). jig would be 4' to 5' away from my bobber. just like my roe setup. thanks bud.

Im going to give jigs a shot soon too ive heard they can be deadly. Ive heard popping or twitching them very slightly can get you fish on the really slow days.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAFb6xkrwnc I think thats part 3 of four i was to lazy to find part 1, still trying to warm up after round two of the cleanup haha

drift it as roe, but what i like to do is give it a little twitch now and then. this gives the jig some action instead of just dead drifting it. Ive had lotta success last fall on jigs. its good to throw something else when other 20 guys are all using roe

i love da jigs in harbours and lower stretches where a slight chop will add the action for you. like dozer said fish em high
