Eagle Lake

I am looking for a vacation destination for my family. Eagle lake in NWT has come up. Wondering if anyone has fished it. Really not looking for much, just to get my kids on fish. Probabley target pike, smallies and walleye with the kids. Lakers and muskie in my adult time.

Does anyone have any experience on the lake

Eagle is closer..... I am 3 hrs away. My kids are pretty young too. A little too young for a trophy trip.

I have done a quick search already as well and I have spoken to a few guys that grew up right in Vermillion bay. I was given info on a lodge that has very reasonable rates. Its called Vermillion bay lodge.... family rates as I said are very reasonable at just under $1500 for 7 days in a cottage including boat and fish cleaning services. I haven't fished a shield lake imn a long time but I don't think I would need a guide.

Over the years the regs on the lake have changed but I heard it had some rough times because of over fishing. Thats my concern. I would like to take my kids out on the lake and catch fish, I don't care if it is rock bass or smallies or little dink pike. I want to get them on fish. Thats it. There is a nice beach on the lake for when they are not fishing.
