Been pretty busy lately with school, but managed to free up some time this morning and head out to the local Heart Lake in Brampton. Very slow start. Had 1 blew up on my frog at around 1pm. Fought it for a good 20 seconds, and then my line snapped on me. 3 hours in, feeling a bit frustrated, when suddenly my spinnerbait felt like it hit a brick wall! Thought it was a sunken log, but what the heck, set the hook anyways...Oh man! It was a bass, and it felt big!!. 15-20 seconds later, I get a glimpse of how big this bass was.....

Scaled in at 4.75lb! Wow! PB for me...

BUT! Not even 1 minute later...my friend sets the hook on what he said felt just as big. And sure enough.....

This one beats me!!!! 5.05lb!!

After all the fun and laughs, we decided to head back to the dock, as we had to return the boat. On the way back, we passed by a shaded area where I just felt a hunch. Stopped the boat and casted a Chartreuse Strike King Spinnerbait. *Reeling, reeling, reeeling...then...*Thud* Thud * and my line starts to go. I set the hook, and woweee here we go again!!! 10 seconds into the fight, I realize....THIS FISH IS BIG!!! It decides to take itself under the boat twice, and I had to let the drag loose on my Curado as I thought the line was going to snap. I gave it about another 15 seconds before I tightened the drag and started to reel again. This hog didn't want to give way!!! It felt like I fought this thing for a good minute, and this was why...

Really nice fall largemouth bass. I knew they were in there but not at those sizes.

How much was to get in and the rental for the boat?

Oh man, I never imagined Heart Lake to contain bass THAT big. I was there once and some guy caught three rainbow trout off the dock, but I haven't seen any bass there. Awesome.

Man oh man, sweet. Those are some hogs, congrats on PB. I havent been out too much lately cause of school, man I miss it.

OMG man...those fish are seriously staring the fall feeding frenzy.
Great job. We need to get out there and hit that lake again.

I've mentioned this place before but it never seems to get much attention... This is one of the urban gems. There are even bigger bass in there.

sssshhhhhhh.

awesome...you have definitely got the right retrieve that drives fish crazy....good for you to try an urban lake....

Its $6 for admission, and boats are $35/4 hours.

Yes, ive actually managed to nail some nice bass from the shore here earlier on in the year. Lots of lily pads patches and weedbeds along the shore that contain alot of bass. FRom the shore, I usually use spinnerbaits for the openwater and frogs/worms for the weeded areas.

Thanks! Good to know, I think I will have to go there and check it out, hopefully sooner then later

That is extremly impressive!

What color spinners were you using? I have been there a couple of times this year but never caught anything close to that big. Maybe if you added up all the fish I caught there this year it would amoun tto close to thte 3 bigs ones lol!

congrats on outdoing yourself!

Thanks guys.

Jay, I was using a 1/2 oz. Strike King Premier Plus Spinnerbait in Firetiger. I love these baits as they come with the trailer hook. The first bass I caught that day was caught with only the trailer hook.

I usually use the Sexy Shad color, but the water was quite murky this weekend, so I figured a more vibrant color would perform a bit better. I have these in every color available, including a couple colors not available on the Bass Pro site. This was also the bait I was using several weeks back nailing all those Pike at island lake.
