Are there any guys who have vast experience with centerpin reels? I just aquired a reel that hasn't been sold in north america and is not a brand name reel...(it's made in china), I recieved it as a sample from the factory. It seems to me that it is a quality reel, it is equiped with quality bearings and the machining seems to be of good quality. The reel has no play and spins freely. I would like some second opinions, I'd be willing to drive over at your convenience. I know this is an odd request, but I am trying to see if there will be a market for this type of reel here in north america. Thank you

Looks and colours are a big factor when it comes to centerpins ...like women and their make up  A few photos would certainly give you a good idea of how people feel about it. Quality parts and a good build are def. needed.

The problem today is their are so many options. When I first started you could get a Leeds or a Stanton, and then Lebaron started selling JW Young at some point, when exactly I don't recall. But the Stanton was the most popular reel in my area. My first float reel was a Stanton, and it was because that was the only float reel the shop sold. Now you have a multitude of options from a price point of $120 to $1200 ranging from rapala to a full custom. There are at least a half dozen option for $200 or less, so you will have to have something pretty special for a pretty special price in order to compete. Just my 2 bits!
