Thanks for the locs. I'll try them out, but first there's some secret hotspots from Dirk ;-) near Roseneath. It's a full moon for tonight, but the barometer is dropping Sunday so should be some hot fishing. ;)

good luck and have fun going to fish some private property along hwy 12 for steelies this afternoon should be a blast ....landowners are usually pretty reasonable if you talk to them before stomping around on thier banks.

hwy 12 runs from orillia to midland and down to whitby we fished coldwater river, sturgeon river, and hog creek water was low and clear not much flow. couple fish at hog creek fish this guy mikes front yard my buddy got a nice 7 pounder and little guy pretty slow fishin but a wild fight on his fish got it on video will try to post it. i rolled a nice brown on the hookset.

Wow nice. I plan to go Sunday, forcast is for light rain at night so the barometer will drop, I hope....lol. Moon phase will be off by then, says Moonphase 3.3 I'll miss the best bite times. Oh well, should be all quiet on the lake by then.

3/4 waining moon is still good here is pic of that brawler caught on 2lb leader with spinning gear

That's a nice one. With 2 lb leader?........dam that's light, you must have played it out for a long time. You use a center pin? All I have is spinning and fly.

thats my buddies fish, i got skunked that day. i fish a float reel he uses spinning gear both of us run 13' rods. 2lb leader is P-Line he took another nice one yesterday on the stuff. the lightest i go is sasame 3 lb .16mm i think the P-line .12mm

I never tried the P-line, the BPS tourney tough line is really good I'm impressed with it's low memory and how strong it is. Somewhere in my basement......lol. I do have 2lb MagnaThin have'nt used it yet for leader or main. I think it's too light for main. My Browning super ultra light reel has 4 and that seems heavy for that reel.......lol Most of the line makers only stick to even lb test, 2, 4, 6, 8.....so on.

yeah i know and some companies 3 is like fishing with others 6 ie) drennan that stuff is tow rope. sasame has a good range of leader lines but havent seen it for awhile. ive been using seaguar abrazzX around twenty bucks for 200 yrds as my leader material. its pretty tough and way more economical than buying 50 yrds of blue label for 12 bucks.

I've caught crappies on 4lb then they just stopped. Switching lures did nothing, even worms. The lighter line might keep them biting. Not sure what colour they prefer but I guess that would change with the conditions. The only bad thing is with my C license limit is 10. Next year I'll get the sport. Watch, they won't bite when I can take more of them. .......lol..
