I was up at Huron trib, PE a couple years ago, in September I believe (just before the kids went back to school)

I noticed some of the guys were pulling in super fresh/chrome salmon. Compared to other ports I have fished at the same time of year, the salmon were not as fresh (on the verge of death).

I wanted to know why such fresh salmon would come in there, compared to other tribs off lake O I have fished? Wondering if this is a common thing for huron tribs. I would love to make a trip there again this Sept (same time frame).

salmon come into the tribs in various stages of their life cycle, around the mouth is the best shot to catch a fresh chrome salmon

East, if you are able to get your paws on a coho, they tend to be far more fresh than the kings. The kings are far from fresh when they are entering the mouths.

On some GB tribs the salmon are quite fresh anywhere near the mouth in early Sept
Thanks Knuguy, i'll keep that in mind. I'll just have to get out there again early Sept. and keep trying.
