What gorgeous fish! I saw somewhere on the web that a "Wiper" was caught east of Toronto a few years back... cross between a White Bass and a Striped Bass, apparently it was 15 lbs caught in January, 2011. I have not seen pics or even know if the story is true but it was all over the net.

There is also a Yellow Bass in the US midwest that doesn;t get very big... 11 inches or so tops, looks like a White/Silver Bass but smaller

Thanks FC!!!!

Beautiful fish to photograph, the third photo really brings out the beauty, great shot :)

I keep coming back to this post to drool over the Silvers... this was the fish of my youth and i have not caught one in years since they almost vanished here but are coming back.... I am going Silver mining this weekend.

Thanks for the inspiration, Chris!

cheers dugger, we have a fish called a white perch it looks almost like a mini version of a white bass but the mouth area is more red/pink in color, sometimes you catch them as well

Nice fish. I've never caught a white bass but have actually caught 2 white perch. They were similar is perch but have the marking of a white bass.
