Really. If I had known I would have switched. Still hunting the elusive brown.

Arms fully extended, fish held as far from body as possible, often head of fish pointed straight at camera. Used to see it on OFN steelhead reports when I used to read that forum, often seen in OFF steelhead reports as well as fishing magazines. Makes fish appear larger than it truly is.

I'm a fan of a good hero shot. When done right with a killer background you can get some really artistic shots. I saw some amazing ones on OFN from the guys with the SLR's. Even the one posted recently in the Ultimate Photo Thread here is an amazing shot.

Can't speak to this year, but previous couple years, browns were in thick in early November. More browns than steel being caught some days. Hope you get one soon Trini. You'll know it's a lake run brown when it stays close to bottom and doesn't feel erratic like a steelhead.

Nice big steelhead, well done. +1 on the proper holding technique, ppl are tiring of the hero pose. Are you hooked now or what? You may suffer from forgetting about all other species for a while, this is normal.

Who cares? I also like a good hero shot, just look at the person's hands if you want to know how big it is!

Thanks salmo good tips. We got to get out sometime and drum up some steel and hopefully a brown whilst were at it.
