Would you/have you fished at a Trout Farm?

In my own right mind I'm nervous eating GTA trout ...but apparently there are several places around the GTA and I love the taste of rainbow/speck.. wouldnt mind catching some trout thats safe to eat.

Not sure if its cheating tho... :)

Well you definitely don't feel as good about catching them as you do in wild situations lol. The downside is that they are pretty expensive and you have to keep and pay for any fish you catch. If you don't mind spending the money it is a fun way to spend an hour of your time.

hey, i have been to a farm before, NO GOOD! unless u fly fish then maybe they will allow you to release them... i find they taste like crap! pond water and cat food. lol or what ever the pellet food is made of that they are fed. plus the cost just to keep a scummy pond trout.... if you have ever had wild trout, then go to a farm to get one, you will diffidently notice the big difference.

fish farmers dont understand the effects the food and water have on the fish, if they live in standing still pond water and are fed only man made pellets, then they are going to taste like what ever they eat and live in... its good to take the kids out to get there first trouter, but i would not make it a routine thing to do,

but thats just my experience from the farms around cambridge..

When my children were young I took them to a trout farm, where i knew for sure that they would catch edible fish. Now I take my grandson for the same reason, but I don't take a rod for me.
