Fishing book for Great Lakes area

EVER BODY COME THE F DOWN theirs is no book that will tell the right info because not all lake of parts of the great lake are the same and each book is going to conflict the author one so the only way to learn is from trail and error and local advice and your own notes sorry to tell you this but you have to find out your self
plus the fish might not bite the lure that you read that works so your going to put some effort and learn by trail and error or local knowledge and same goes with websites



so can all go back to are normal lives

You say these words... yet I do not think you know what they mean. If it can be written into a website, IT CAN BE WRITTEN INTO A BOOK

and as the guy above said knowing how to catch fish in one area will help you catch fish in another, just takes some tweaking.

Yep, totally agree. Books, magazines, websites, forums, are nothing but handed-down knowledge someone else has picked up from time on the water, or others. A great supplement to your own time on the water, typically fairly transferable, and a way to learn and gain knowledge when you can't make it to the water. You'll learn things in books it could take you years to realize on the water - nothing wrong with a little education.

If you are ever looking for deep water trolling information i would recommend "Dan Keating" ive read 2 of his books and found them helpful. His latest book finished with trout and salmon specific information and his preferred technique

You could also look on more specific forums. Spoonpullers has a great database of information.

You can join clubs also... CLOSA is having a demonstration meeting this weekend. I think there is also something going in st Cat soon too

Hi all, Big T555, looks like you have received a fair bit of advice and some ideas here as I do when I have questions but usually don't post, I just go looking for the answers. It seems to me Big T, that your best and probably first place to start, would have been your father and the friends that he fishes with as they have a lifetime of knowledge to delve into and learn from. And as you do this ask them if its okay to take notes. Its a good place to start. A few years ago I ordered a set of reference guides from Algonquin Provincial Park which are loaded with information on the fish species, their habitats, what they eat, and how to catch them and where. Mind you it is park specific but I don't think that the brown trout or the lake trout or for that matter the Petawawa River muskie know whether they are in the park or the Kawartha highlands so the information therein can be used most anywhere in central Ontario or parts south. The set of guides are found in the parks website under friends of Algonquin Park, go to the index, left hand side, click on store and then click on Park Nature books, Then choose set # 2 Fishing, 3 books and a canoe guide to the park. Hope it helps a little. My best experience and lessons came from my father who is in his middle eighties, blind and having trouble remembering all our times together fishing. Kills me, but at the very least I can still tell him how much fun we had together.
