Area: GTA
The Eglinton Flats is known as one of the biggest recreational areas in the GTA. What's less known about it is the great fishing at Thompton Pond.

Today I decided to try out the small pond thats about a 20 minute walk from me. I went from 4:30 pm - 7:00 pm. Temperature today was mildly warm, around 25 degrees, and somewhat sunny.
I started out fishing with corn kernels. I chummed up the spot a bit and cast out. After about 5 minutes I saw something playing around with my corn, but it later stopped (by the way I am float fishing). This is the spot:

From what I have heard pike frequent that area near the weeds. I decided to change it up a bit after a half hour with no luck. A fiendly fellow was on his way gave me his worms and I changed the spot. Fishing without a bobber, I cast out and landed a decent sized bullhead:

3 more were caught and 3 others struck my worm but were spooked.
The pond is nearly empty in the afternoon times, however by 6 pm there are junior soccer games going on. Also, at the spot I was first fishing at, I heard of some fellow that was fighting a carp earlier that day that snapped his rod! I also saw two carp jump simultaneously near the middle of the pond. Happy fishing!
