Hey everyone,

I'm looking to start fishing the Nottawasaga river and would like to know what kinds of fish I will be targeting. I already know there is Rainbow trout, Steelhead and Pike.

Are there any panfish in the Notti? Because I would love to bring my Girl friend and daughter, but they don't like the slow pace of salmon fishing and love catching panfish. I've been looking at catch reports and locations on FishBrain but not once have i seen a post of panfish.

Also i have a fishing Kayak and would like to paddle to Jack's lake to fish for Pike, anyone know if it will be faster or easier from Edenvale conservation area or Wasaga Beach to kayak to Jack's lake

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, Ryan

There are walleye down in the lower end of the river through the summer, nothing big but some decent eaters. There are also occasional channel cats.

You won't see any rainbows/steelhead (same fish btw, just 2 different names) till fall when it gets cooler. Salmon usually show up in late August.

Pike fishing in the Notti isn't that good, there are many better spots nearby - the narrows at Couch being one of them.

Not familiar with the area myself, but there appears to be a stretch of open area to fish in Wasaga Beach, take what I say with a grain of salt, but good luck, anyways!

I know it’s been a bit since anyone posted here but here goes. I pretty much live in wasaga all summer bass fishing is good in the lower notty all summer. Right about now the salmon start especially with this rain and overcast. With the odd trout following in. Fishing from a yak is fantastic. Jacks lake does have pike lots of weeds and bass
