Hey guys a couple of my buddies and I are planning a fishing trip looking to try and catch some walleye and pike. We are only able to drive a maximum of 1.5 hours away as we will be using our parents car ;) we have a boat though!

If anyone has any opinions on a lake we can try for both types of fish it would be much appreciated :) no need for spots or anything just asking for a general lake that may produce fish, even if they are small!

Thanks everyone!

In my Walleye catching days we would always hit Sturgeon Lake close to Lindsay , I even had my stag there for the weekend opener .
Good bass and musky as alternatives and sometimes large carp hit the jigs too .

I think we're gonna head up to balsam lake for the walleye and possibly pike but as well head over to mitchell and canal lake for pike! Hope the weather is good :)

Definitely try the burnt river if you choose to go through the locks and fish rosedale, the walleye are always hitting in it. Just troll with a worm harness.

Well the good thing is these are all very close to each other! Thanks for all the replies everyone :) much appreciated!

I really want to try dalrymple or however you spell because I heard good things about it... only problem is that my friend is driving his dad's boat and only feels comfortable in lakes he has been in before :p
I am still gonna ask him one more time to go there tho!

Out of Balsam/Canal/Mitchell (we'd hit those three in the day) and Dalrymple, which one do you guys think would produce the most fish for this time of the year?

they all get alot of pressure, but they all hold fish. scugog is good early too there is some nice dropoffs around caesarea and viewlake

I think we have decided on Balsam/Canal/Mitchell! Really hoping to boat some pike :) if that becomes slow we are gonna change it up and go for walleye but honestly I just wanna catch some fish (as do all of us) :p
