Very cool video. Why not use the PIN rather than casting gear.

To do it all over again I'd settle in BC.

it seems as if it were her first time ever out... and on a bait caster?? lol, and not to mention sight fishing fish is a little bit rube'ish...

Why not use casting gear. Its a preference thing.

If you have a float rod blank made into a casting rod and use a light low profile reel you can float fish great with one.

Most of the guys that try float fishing with a casting reel use a stiff rod and keep the spool tension way to high to drift properly. With the spool tension turned off and the mag brakes turned low you can drift great with them. You can even do hero drifts. With a proper float rod blank, modern reel, lighter line, and some skill you can even cast smaller floats.

Use whatever catches you fish and gives you the most enjoyment.

Play the first 30secs of the video...

Doesn't matter what form of reel they use, as long as it gives you a drag less drift.

Ive never tried it on a casting reel, but no need to go back at this point. fisherman38 -- personal pref is bang on../

I've been on the hunt for a good deal on a twist wrap rod for a while now, its perfect for bigger flows
