Got out to my buddies cottage on Puslinch Lake this weekend to do some bass fishing on one of my favorite spots. Got into a bunch of nice Largies and a bunch of small ones too. Got a few Hammer handle pike on the spinnerbait too.

Can you find the fish?

Scenery Shot

All bass except for one were got on the texas rigged chigger craw with a Tungsten weight that screwed to the head of the craw. Green Pumpkin was the best producing color. I have been reluctant to try out the tungsten weights for the past few years due to price ($2 per weight is pretty steep) but it was well worth it. I was able to cast it out farther than ever and the weeds are pretty bad this year so the extra weight was quite helpful with punching through the weed mats.

nice, i had a chance to get go up north for a few days. got a few largies my self but the lake had more walleye then anything. tough to handle with those sharp teeth they have.

Nice fish, adjacent Little Lake is also a good spot for pike.

I heard the boat launch at the restaurant on Puslinch is no longer open to the public?

I have paddled that lake a few times with a canoe, and I have seen some decent sized pike in it. I hear there are walleye in there too.

I've always wondered what's lurking in that big pond/swamp off Erbsville Rd. when you're approaching Kressler. Not sure how deep it is, but it's always worth trying new spots.

You sure do frequent alot of places that I normally do.

Im not 100% sure but I believe the launch is only closed during the winter during ice fishing season as a result of the death caused by the snowmobile collision. Its a good thing really, it wasnt safe in the winter with all of the snowmobile drag racing and dirt bike drifting going on. The lake was way too small and crowded for that nonsense.

I had no idea there was Walleye in the lake, I thought conditions were too shallow, warm and oxygen depleted for them.

As for the swamp on erbsville with all of the dead trees, that spot doesnt seem like it holds fish to me but you never know! It seems really shallow as the dead trees that are in the lake are almost exposed at the roots. With that being said I did see a guy and a girl walking down to the water last week with rods in hand.

Hey Float, havent heard from you in a while. You own a spinning rod???? With all the pin pictures we see I would have never guessed lol. Howd you make out with the eyes? I havent gotten into any yet this year, I need to get a northern trip in before the fall season kicks in.

Nice fish! I have the same spinner bait as you!!

Small world lol. I get turned off by the $5,6,7 spinner baits and these seemed just as good to me at $4. Caught a few bass on them too.

Nice looking fish!

Good to see that puslinch still is producing both Bass and Pike.

I have not fished it in over 30+ years.

Grew up in Guelph, so used to go a lot back then.

Some years the weeds would choke off the entire lake.

Some years it was okay.

West of the Big Island, across from Lakeside Dr., seemed fairly deep last time I fished there. I've pulled walleye out of incredibly shallow, still and polluted waters in KW, so I don't think they'd have a problem with the water in Puslinch.

I don't think I've ever met you fishing around there, but in all likelihood we've probably fished the same area at the same time. I met a couple anglers in Conestogo, sometime around September 2010, fishing near the bridge, that might have been you? Was my first time fishing that section, which is why I remember meeting them. Also, I left behind and subsequently lost my net that day lol. They said something about not targeting walleye because they're boring fighters.

I wouldn't be surprised if that pond held bass, although it looks like it's a stand alone pond, not attached to any creeks. Did you know that the tiny creek that crosses the road at Weber and King in St. Jacobs holds pike, they spawn there in the spring.

I wanna get a few more but forgot the brand. You would happen to know it would you? Thanks
