Hi Folk's I came across this video and I thought it explained Fly Fishing in an easy way although I have not Fly fished I would like to learn how....

Please any add any comments & or any tips for us wanna be "Fly Guy's"

my best tip is get out and try it its not hard to learn
There are few more knots and learning about leaders sink tips etc, once you're setup it's not too difficult. It's like a lot of things, new skills require a learning curve. I try it once in a while haven't been real successful at it,a couple of little ones but I enjoy it. Each time seems easier. I have a cheap starter setup, my casting would probably improve with a better rod.

Alittle it just takes practice maybe if you can afford it go out with a casting instructor to help but to start out I would even worry about sink tips and that it makes it harder to cast I started almost 6 years ago and haven't looked back I rarely fishing anything but on the fly and if I'm always up too meet and help any one with there casting in the gta area it's helps me as well as I'm working on taking my casting instructor test though the federation of fly fishers

Cool, good luck with that. I talked to the one guy at bass pro about lessons but couldn't justify the coin, also because he seemed to have a holier than thou attitude. What's neat is when you just touch a fly to the water and back cast again and just dab the water with it. I try to diversify and not pigeonhole to one method of fishing, they all have merit. Prime example, took my daughter who's 8, down to the river after grabbing some worms from the yard,I took my fly rod to practice with. she had a cheap rod and caught ten chub in an hour to my zero with flies. She likes to remind me of that too.

was it the old dude with glasses? i found him to be like that too. i stopped going to bps altogether now and go down to sail. the guys in the fly shop there are better i found.
Thanks for the tip. I don't like the fly guys at BPS either. I went in the fly shop once to look around and he was a d*ck.

I wouldn't take lessons from any one that works at bps I just don't trust those guys any time I walk in you don't get a hello out of them or anything and there selection sucks I rather sail or Wilson's

ronnie--for startes you gotta get out with madriver--guys got a gracful swing and knows his poop---he does use simms however his fly fishing is a thing of beauty hahaha- you should join us soon- i am about to embark into the wonderful world of spey casting with my new rig with madriver, and yes Chase i bought a large arbor orvis to hang off my loop yellow line switch rod..lol---gotta stay true----anyway mad is a great guy and will surely help at any given chance..ronnie you had the RV right? man we gotta hit the north in the spring---i want to park an RV somewhere at the opener hahahaha what a presence

Hey Schnip,

Yes I plan on using the RV to the Max this year & putting some miles on it again next year.

For the Opener I just need to figure out where to go & look into campsite availability & book it to avoid disappointment.

I am looking into pulling it out of storage and heading south next month with the Missus as she has had a hell of a time recovering from surgery October past so maybe I will get a chance to do some fishing when I am away.

Sounds like you & Madriver will have a hoot out on the water Spey Casting together.... I am still trying to learn how to use a center pin LOL

oh yeah man sounds awesome---i forgot completely you are on the pin now---see you on the fly soon my friend lol--either way you can fish with an old hokey stick--we should still get together and hit some fish
